Subject: Congratulations…

Dearest Granddaughter: Congratulations…..on being your certification. Its official and now the real work begins. I get to work early and use this time to email my precious grandchildren. I now say to you, ” Welcome to the real world”  You are now part of the  work force.  Now is the beginning of the rest of your  adult working life. No one ever gave me advice, and I made many bad decisions in my life.  But, somehow I got though. I feel that someone or God was watching over me.  I hope I have been forgiven for all the crazy decisions I made. I thank God every day for the wonderful family I have. 

What I did not want to tell you before, but I can share with you now.  I have been working with Doctors for 40 years, (not as much now because of Computers).  They are a difficult group (superiority complex).  Many of them are great, but the some feel above all, including “God “. Just like Judges to Attorneys., Judges also feel an almighty power over Lawyers and people.  We here at the Library have not had it easy.  But in the end you work hard, you know you have to make a living, and that comes first (bills,food etc.)  I love coming to work everyday and being treated with respect, but truth be told its not always easy.   Many times I have put my feelings aside and used my brain instead.  I am on my own and I must make a living.  Unfortunately I did not have a profession to fall back on, even with a profession there is always someone you have to answer to.  That’s what we all have to understand, that’s life.  How lucky you are, smart and prepared for the future.  We believe in you and love you.  Hope and pray for a bright future for you always.  Think positive always be a professional.  Think of all the people you help and that you give comfort to. I will never forget those inspiring speeches at your “Yale Graduation” and don’t you forget them.  Being a N.P. is a noble professional.  Feel good about yourself and pass those feelings on.
